SUMMARY:Current research to advance sustainable dry-land farming in Australia
DESCRIPTION:Centre for Sustainable Agriculture Seminar\n\nDr John Kirkegaard leads the Frontiers of Farm Productivity Stream within CSIRO's National Sustainable Agriculture Flagship which conducts research to meet food security challenges in the face of resource scarcity and climate change. His research spans scales from detailed studies of root-soil interactions in intensive no-till cereals, to strategies to improve whole-farm water-use efficiency in mixed crop-livestock systems. He will discuss how this research can assist Australian farms to maintain the 2% pa productivity increases in sustainable ways in the face of rising input costs and climate change.
