DESCRIPTION:The cryo EDM Experiment - Searching for The Neutron Electric Dipole Moment at ILL: The ever-tightening limits on the magnitude of the neutron electric dipole moment provide some of the most severe constraints upon physics beyond the Standard Model. The current world limit of 2.9 E-26 ecm, was set by the predecessor of the cryoEDM experiment and has ruled out and placed greater restrictions on more theories beyond the standard model than any other experiment. In this seminar I will present an overview of the physics and status of EDM experiments and describe in detail the cryoEDM experiment and its progress towards a new world limit.
