SciTech Vision Steering Group

The SciTech Vision Steering Group manages the project at strategic level and provides it with direction.

The steering group's aims are to:

  • Champion the project and raise awareness at senior level
  • Link the project to other communities, developments or opportunities within the university and the wider community
  • Approve strategies, implementation plans, project scope and milestones
  • Resolve strategic and/or policy issues or other serious conflicts within the project
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the project throughout its lifespan, addressing specific issues where required
  • Identify resources, including where possible, funding for the project
  • Monitor project cost against budget
  • Monitor project activity against plans
  • Monitor and coordinate outcomes
  • Establish sub-committees and working groups as and when required
  • Consider Change Request forms for approval

The Steering Group shall comprise members who, between them, represent undergraduate and postgraduate activity and research activity, for all schools, departments and units within the faculty. Members are expected to:

  • Attend meetings on a regular basis
  • Represent the views and opinions of stakeholder groups
  • Contribute to discussions and debates and bring ideas 'to the table'
  • Provide strategic direction and influence and shape the development of the SciTech Vision Project
  • Undertake work, including preparing and presenting papers, reports and other documents as required
  • Make decisions at a strategic level
