Science and Technology Taster Day
Friday 01 July 2011, 0945-1500
Science and Technology at Lancaster's summer Taster Day is an opportunity for year 12 students to get an insight into the courses available at Lancaster University.
The day will give students an idea of university life and what it's like to study science and technology subjects.
Sessions will be offered in Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Geography, Environmental Science, Physics, Psychology, Computing, Communication Systems (ICT) and Engineering.
This year, for the first time, students will have the option to attend a talk from a current Science and Technology student on what it's like living and studying at Lancaster University.
The day is aimed specifically at those students studying relevant A-levels (or equivalent) who are likely to be considering higher education in the future and who are keen to find out more about how these subjects are taught at university.
During the one-day event students will attend a series of short lectures and practical workshops and have the opportunity to talk informally to staff and students from the various departments.
Places for sessions are limited. For further details and to book please contact Dr Alan Darragh, tel. 01524 594208.
