Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team are one of 52 voluntary teams in England and Wales providing rescue services for the preservation of life and the protection of property. The team covers much of Lancashire, with the Forest of Bowland being the main rural area, and urban areas of Lancaster, Preston and Blackpool also covered, 24 hrs, 365 days. Phil Hill, team member for over 10 years, will present the team's role in the northwest; its people and resources; the environment within they work; and past incidents.
On an environmental point of view, the team operate across many environments, including being prepared to support emergency services in times of flood, fire and snow.
