Lecture by the Royal Geographical Society NW Region and LEC, Lancaster
The seminar will highlight the impact on our environment of the range of activities society undertakes to achieve food security (e.g. producing, processing, marketing, consuming food), and introduce some of the ways environmental change undermines our food security. It will also examine options to both adapt our food systems to changes in environmental parameters, and also to mitigate further deleterious environment change. John Ingram is NERC's 'Food Security Leader', and has wide ranging experience of research into the interactions between environment and food systems.
