Funded PhDs in Nuclear Chemistry / Nuclear Engineering
Lancaster University's Engineering Department currently has two fully-funded PhD opportunities in the field of nuclear decommissioning.
The two projects are Nanosensors for Nuclear Chemical Processes and Fission Product Chemistry during Nuclear Fuel Recycling.
Both projects will involve well-integrated elements of chemistry, materials science and engineering, and will lead to the appointee becoming familiar with techniques needed to tackle major problems in the nuclear industry.
The appointee in both projects will interact with a number of external organisations, including Sellafield Ltd and the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), the UK's largest nuclear research facility for the conduct of radioactive experiments.

How do we find out about cyber criminals?
Security Lancaster and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics held a workshop to form a new collaborative group who will widen the knowledge of cybercrime and start developing innovative approaches to obtaining information on cyber criminals. The workshop included security researchers and statisticians, solicitors specialising in cybercrime, and experts from government agencies.
