Ricky Dunn, who is studying on the 2-year International MSc for Environmental Science and Technology programme, has been awarded a £500 scholarship from FindAmasters.com under the heading of Masters in Physical and Chemical Sciences Postgraduate Funding Award 2012. As one of LEC's alumni, he became passionate about the effects of chemical pollution on the environment and human health, while studying for his undergraduate degree. This was enhanced when he had the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants at the United Nations. In seeking to extending his education and specialise in environmental toxicology and chemical risk management, Ricky decided on the 2 year International (Research) Masters in Environmental Science and Technology, here in the Lancaster Environment Centre. Not only does he have the opportunity to choose from a large range of modules which will allow him to specialise in his chosen area of interest, it also allows him to undertake a one year research project in China at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his time in China, Ricky will have the opportunity to gain direct work experience with industrial partners as well as academics to enhance his career prospects.
