Business North West Showcase Opportunities
Business North West Conference 21-22 November 2007
Apply now for Giant Leap and The Ideas Factory, two competitions for businesses to showcase their ideas to a targeted audience at this year's Business North West conference.
The event is designed especially for owners, directors and entrepreneurs of SMEs providing a central point for information, advice and inspiration for growing businesses, or for those wanting to be more effective and efficient.
Successful applicants to the two competitions will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and win a variety of benefits and services.
Application Deadlines
Deadlines for applications are 14 September for Giant Leap and 19 October for Ideas Factory.
The Business Northwest conference, incorporates BEX (Business Enterprise eXchange), will takes place at Manchester Central (formally G-MEX) on November 21 and 22 and will bring together leading business experts and entrepreneurs.
Ideas Factory
Ideas Factory provides an opportunity for micro companies and business start-ups to tell potential funders, suppliers, customers and partners about a business idea in a five minute 'pitch'. A panel of business experts will choose a winner each day over the two day event and each winner will go back to their business with services including 12 months free office space, brand design and development and business and sales training. All successful candidates will be provided with free advice and coaching on their presentation and receive a free one day exhibition space within the Business North West show.
Giant Leap
Aimed at young and fast growing companies, Giant Leap also provides an opportunity to showcase business ideas to a targeted audience
who offer potential investment, management and support services. Successful candidates will be provided with a presentation slot, exhibition space and presentation coaching and assistance.

First Science and Technology Business Partnerships and Enterprise Annual Report 2011-2012 available to download now
2011-2012 saw the development of a new theme-based strategy for Business Partnerships and Enterprise in Science and Technology. The seven interdisciplinary themes are: Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Environment, Health and Human Development, Information and Communication Technologies, Quantum Technology and Security. Each theme has dedicated professional staff to work with businesses and source the expertise they need.
