New Kendal ICT Cluster Group
The ICT Cluster Group section of our website and been expanded to include a new group for Kendal.
The Kendal group has only been operating since February 2008 and already there have been some very interesting speakers with the emphasis on latest technologies, knowledge and information relevant to the ICT industry. Speakers have included Jayne Kendall & Jacky Robinson from SLDC speaking on business support programmes and Ian Palmer from IPR Ian Palmer speaking on IP matters.
The group aims to bring together the expertise and creativity of ICT businesses from Kendal and South Lakes in Cumbria.
Digital and Creative Sector Broker for Business Link NW, David Low said,
"The Kendal ICT Cluster Group is a new concept for the area's ICT companies. The number of members is growing fast and those attending have given very positive comments about the speakers and the relevance to their businesses.
"Anyone working in software design, web development, digital design or marketing should make every effort to take part in these not to be missed events!"
Over the coming months the group meetings will feature exciting and interesting presentations from respected specialists in leading-edge digital developments.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is on Tuesday 27th May at 6.00pm at the Castle Green Hotel and will feature Rachel Marsdin from Moore and Smalley speaking on R&D Tax Credits and Don McAllister, New Media Consultant, speaking on Podcasting.

How do we find out about cyber criminals?
Security Lancaster and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics held a workshop to form a new collaborative group who will widen the knowledge of cybercrime and start developing innovative approaches to obtaining information on cyber criminals. The workshop included security researchers and statisticians, solicitors specialising in cybercrime, and experts from government agencies.
