Professional training in environmental compliance management
In February 2008, the Centre for Chemicals Management in The Lancaster Environment Centre launched a programme of professional and University accredited training courses for industry and business in Environmental Compliance Management.
The current training programme is for REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) compliance and prepares participants for the deadlines associated with REACH. The benefits of the programme are:
* Timeliness. The programme will be revised and move forward in line with companies' different needs at each stage of the REACH implementation process.
* Flexibility. Courses are part of a rolling programme and participants can undertake training at a time to suit them and their companies.
* Delivery by Experts. The courses will be delivered by experts and practitioners on REACH who are providing advice and guidance on a routine basis and who have, in many cases, industry experience at senior level.
The programme will also provide participants with an opportunity to gain Lancaster University accredited qualifications in Environmental Compliance Management. Bespoke training for companies is also available.

The Centre for Chemicals Management is also a member of the partnership managed by The REACH Centre, a private company within LEC providing REACH consultancy services. The Centre provides professional training to the partnership.
