What will you study?

At Lancaster, we emphasise modern developments in statistical methodology, the effective use of statistical software and the application of statistics in the natural, social and biomedical sciences. During your second year, you will choose whether to complete our three-year BSc degree or our four-year MSci degree. Students on our MSci Study Abroad programme spend their third year at a partner university in Australasia or North America.

These courses will grant you accreditation to Graduate Statistician status of the Royal Statistical Society and exemption from the Probability and Statistics exam of the Institute of Actuaries, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

Where could it take you?

As a statistician, you will be ideally placed for a career in government, finance, computing, teaching, accounting and more. Your skills in logical thinking, analytical working and problem solving are highly transferrable and will enable you to take up a career in fields such as marketing, management and consulting.
