Applications Must be Made Through UCAS.

Prospective students should apply for Biomedical and Life Science degree schemes through UCAS. You can obtain a copy of the UCAS Directory and application form from your school or college, or directly from UCAS.

Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences Open Days.

Once we have received your UCAS application we will invite you to an open day relevant to the degree scheme(s) for which you have applied. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the open days as well. These events are normally held between November and March and are designed such that you will see the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences in full swing with students attending lectures and practical. Open days will incorporate the following opportunities:

  • A one-to-one informal discussion with an academic staff member giving you the opportunity to find out more about your chosen course, the Division and the University generally.
  • Presentations by academic staff members about our degree schemes and student welfare/finance at the University and a talk by one of our current students about how much fun you can have here at Lancaster!
  • A tour of the Division and campus. We will show you our excellent teaching and research facilities and hopefully give you a flavour of the type of research expertise on offer in the Division (this is particularly important as our degree schemes are research-led with each lecturer being an expert in their field and inputting their research findings directly into undergraduate lectures and practicals). You will also be shown more of the campus generally and have the opportunity to see some typical on-campus student accommodation.

Please note:

Pre-medical Studies (A900) open days cannot be booked. Only applicants who are selected for formal interview will be invited to attend an open day (you will be informed of this separately).

Individuals applying for Biological Sciences (C100) or Biological Sciences Year Abroad (C102) are invited to book on one of the open days with our colleagues in the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) by clicking here.
