Medical Education, Postgraduate Study and
Multi-Disciplinary Research

Lancaster Medical School is one of the newest Departments at Lancaster University; consisting of the Lancaster Medical School, which delivers the MBChB degree, and CHICAS (Combining Health Information, Computation and Statistics), a research group that focuses on medical statistics and epidemiology. Other research within the Department spans all aspects of Medicine including basic biomedical research, sociology of medicine and medical education.

Interested in studying medicine at Lancaster?

Since September 2006, Lancaster University has delivered the Liverpool University MBChB degree curriculum to 50 undergraduate students per year, based at Lancaster.

In November 2012, the General Medical Council approved Lancaster Medical School to deliver their own medical degree independently from the University of Liverpool. Students who commence their studies after September 2013, will be registered as Lancaster University students and will graduate with a Lancaster University degree, subject to ongoing GMC approval.
