Student Laptops
Your Centre for Medical Education laptop is pre-configured for the Lancaster University network and has, pre-installed, all the software you are likely to need as a student. It is supported by the School of Health and Medicine IT Team.
Extra Software
Before contacting the SHM IT Team please note you can get the latest software updates by connecting your laptop to the campus network.
For general software updates restart the laptop whilst the network cable is connected in the Library or in CALC.
Whilst connected to the campus network you can also install additional software from:
Start Menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add New Programs

If you have technical problems with your laptop, need extra software installing or hardware (such as printers and webcams) you will need to bring your laptop in to the IT workshop.
We are based in the Physics Building C62/57. The Physics entrance is behind the LUVU office off Alexandra Square. Then up to C floor and all the way through to the back of the building. See signs for SHM IT Workshop.
Appointments are available most weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
