Research Degrees

The Department welcomes applications from those seeking to perform research for the degrees listed below. Opportunities are available within each of the Department’s research areas listed below.

MPhil/PhD/MD/Intercalated Masters Degree*

Entry Requirements for Postgraduate and Intercalated students: Applicants should hold at least a relevant second-class honours degree, or its equivalent, in a relevant subject.

Assessment: Original research and thesis.

IELTS: 6.5

Funding: MRC, BBSRC, ESRC, NERC, EU, Wellcome Trust, Royal Society

*the intercalated masters degree is currently available in collaboration with Liverpool University and is projected to run by Lancaster Medical School at Lancaster by academic year 2010/2011
