The Centre for Ageing Research has hosted a very successful international conference at the University (5-7 September) on the theme of 'Ageing: Moving Beyond Boundaries'.
We welcomed 80 delegates to Lancaster, who heard a mix of keynote presentations and papers delivered by experienced and early career researchers, as well as viewing over 40 posters that highlighted recent research. Highlights included keynotes from Alan Walker (Sheffield), Richard Faragher (Brighton), James Goodwin (Age UK), Christina Victor (Brunel), Dick Willems (Amsterdam), David Oliver (Department of Health), and Julia Twigg (Kent). These presentations covered topics such as:
We were also pleased to welcome the University Chancellor, Sir Chris Bonington, who gave a perfectly-judged after dinner speech that related his own experiences as a climber to the conference themes.
We are in the process of seeking permission from speakers to make their presentations available to a wider audience.
