The Centre for Ageing Research (C4AR) conducts high quality interdisciplinary research around ageing, older people and age-related disease that establishes Lancaster University as a leading regional, national and international centre of excellence for ageing research.

Centre for Disability Research

The Centre for Disability Research (CeDR) undertakes multi-disciplinary research on disability and disablism with impact on policy making and social practices in disability arenas – regionally, nationally and internationally.

Centre for Organizational Health and Well-Being

The Centre for Organizational Health and Well-Being (COHWB) is a problem-based research group that brings together world class academics to work with Chief Medical Officers, Occupational Health professionals and HR Directors to address cutting edge issues in the area of health and well-being which contribute to business performance. implantation and delivery of programmes and services.

Combining Health Information, Computing and Statistics

CHICAS is a statistics research group based in the Faculty of Health and Medicine at Lancaster University. Research in CHICAS is concerned with the development and application of novel statistical and epidemiological methods, motivated by substantive problems in the biomedical and health sciences. The group undertakes collaborative work with national and international health organisations.

International Observatory on End of Life Care

The aim of IOELC is to undertake high quality research, clinical studies, evaluation, education, advocacy and consultancy to improve palliative and end of life care for patients and family carers. The Observatory works closely with the local health and social care community in the North West, as well as nationally and internationally. We offer a range of methodological and theoretical expertise drawn from clinical and social science perspectives.

Spectrum Centre for Mental Health Research

The Spectrum Centre conducts translational research into the understanding and psychological treatment of bipolar disorder and other related conditions. It achieves its purpose both by obtaining significant grant funding and by working collaboratively with third sector organisations and service users, regionally and nationally.
