We are Lancaster Medical Society, created and run by medical students for medical students (and pre-meds and those of you interested in Medicine). We run numerous events academically, socially and also dabble in a bit of charity work too, all in an effort to make your 5 years at medical school fly by!

(19/10/12) ***MedSoc 4th Annual Conference TOMORROW!!***

We are very much looking forward to you joining us for our 4th annual conference, this year entitled 'The History of Medicine and Surgery'. Registration will take place from 9:30am onwards in the Management School Hub. Details of speakers and the timetable are available on the Facebook event.Goody bags and refreshments will be available for all delegates. See you tomorrow!

(12/9/12) Only ONE WEEK until Freshers'!

We hope you're looking forward to an exciting social week next week. Freshers' will be arriving on Wednesday 19th, all details as per the Freshers' page. ALL members are more than welcome to come and attend any of the events listed. Don't forget to sign-up and buy your tickets for Alton Towers and the Freshers' Ball, all available at the FGH and RLI undergraduate offices.

(31/5/12) Professor Anne Garden Talk

Director of Medical Education Professor Anne Garden will be doing a talk about the furture of Lancaster Medical School tonight, 6:30pm at the RLI Education Centre. Needless to say it will be enlightening and interesting so we look forward to seeing as many of you there tonight! Refreshments will be available afterwards.

(27/5/12) Inter-Year Football & Netball

Held on Sunday 27th May, saw the 5th years win the football and the 2nd years win the Netball.Hope you've all enjoyed it as much as we did, same again next year or even next term with the Freshers...I think so!

(24/3/12) Radiology Teaching Monday 26th March

Mike Flanagan will be doing one last lost of Radiology teaching for all years befor his retirement next week. It will take place at the RLI Education Centre at 5pm, refreshments will be available after the teaching. It promises to be great revision and a last chance to gain a few pearls of wisdom from a great Radiologist!

4th and 5th Years Required

Projects Abroad is a travel company that will be coming in May to discuss working abroad, and how they help with medical electives. Along with this talk we would like some 4th and 5th years to attend to discuss their electives with the current 3rd years. We are looking for a wide variety of destinations including the UK. If you would be interested in helping out with this please get in contact including your elective destination.

We have been informed of the 4th annual DermSchool for medical students and junior doctors, run by the BAD.This year the event is to be held in Birmingham. Please follow this link to find out more details. It is a great event and will be ideal for those of you considering a career in Dermatology.
