Free Child Welfare Officer training – Time to Listen Workshops in the North West

Time to Listen, developed by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit, is advanced level safeguarding training. It is specific role training for those acting as Child Welfare Officers within badminton and has been designed to support them in their role. A Time to Listen workshop will be taking place in Liverpool and Manchester. Please see below for the details of these workshops.

TTL/6 Saturday 26th November 2011, 9:30 to 13:30 @ Lifestyles Everton Sports Centre, Great Homer Street, Liverpool, L5 5PH

TTL/8 Saturday 10th December 2011, 9:30 to 13:30 @ Manchester National Squash Centre, Sportcity, Gate 13, Rowsley Street, Manchester, M11 3FF

Places on a Time to Listen workshop are free of charge for Child Welfare Officers. For those who wish to attend the workshop along with their Child Welfare Officer to support them in their role, they may book onto a Time to Listen workshop at a fee of £20.

For Child Welfare Officers of a Premier Club please note that if they have already been on a Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course (SPC) and are soon due for their renewal, they can attend a Time to Listen workshop instead of the SPC course again. This will be accepted for Clubmark.

To book onto a workshop please complete an application form which can be downloaded from www.badmintonengland.co.uk/timetolisten . The completed form needs to be returned either by email to education@badmintonengland.co.uk or by post to The Education & Training Department, BADMINTON England, National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, MK8 9LA (Please note that a copy of the applicant’s Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children course certificate must be sent along with the application form).

Places available are limited, so please send in application forms early to secure a place.
