Opportunities for academics Visiting fellowships The DEMAND centre will lhost up to 20 visiting researchers of 2-6 months over the five years, selected through two rounds of a competitive call for proposals. Both competitions will be managed by the core team with advice and independent input from the advisory board and members of the DEMAND club. Responsive programme We have reserved additional funding for small scale linked projects that develop and extend our research programme. These opportunities for collaboration will be advertised on a competitive basis with applicants expected to work with sub-groups of partners and our non-academic collaborators in order to attract further co-funding and support innovative forms of co-working. There will be two rounds in each of which 2-3 additional projects will be funded. PhD Studentships There are 12 PhD studentships to be funded by the DEMAND Centre. EDF-DEMAND 'Scheduling Practices' These will be advertised in due course.

Opportunities for business and policy Secondments The DEMAND centre has funding for six secondments. These allow us to capitalise on the Centre’s capacity to mobilise international, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral expertise and act as a “hot house” for academic and non-academic creativity. The DEMAND club The DEMAND club is designed to enable 20-30 local, national and international representatives from policy and business to inform and follow our research. The Club will meet on an annual basis and members will be expected to participate in relevant engagement events, extend the DEMAND Centre’s influence and impact and facilitate the co-shaping of research agendas, processes and outcomes. Contact E.Shove@Lancaster.ac.uk or G.P.Walker@Lancaster.ac.uk if you are interested in joining the DEMAND club. |
