Providing accessible and effective services to enhance the student experience, including:-

Accommodation - College & Residences manage the University’s accommodation portfolio. The central office deals with general enquiries, as well as the administration of family flats and guestrooms. A college based Residence Officer deals with day to day student issues. |

Careers - staff in the CEEC (Centre for Enterprise, Employability and Careers) can provide information, advice and guidance on going into work, placement, further study and developing your skills. |

Counselling - staff provide confidential and professional support on issues such as personal, family, social or academic matters over the short term, to more complex or difficult longer term problems. The service is offers both appointment and drop-in sessions.

Disability - staff provide advice and guidance to students with disabilities and support needs from the first enquiry through to graduation. About 5% of first year students declare a disability and many continue with us to progress to postgraduate study.

Student Funding - staff provide information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student funding and financial aid. This includes University financial awards, UK Government support, U.S. Loans and other general money matters such as costs and budgeting. The section manages the University financial awards database.

International students - advice on visa extension, rules on working in the UK, budgeting, general welfare and cultural orientation. The designated point of advice for immigration issues.

Mental Health - a specialist student mental health advisor can provide confidential, professional and practical support for students with declared mental health difficulties.

Nurse Unit - staff offer 24hr nursing care during term time, including in-patient facilities. In addition experienced staff offer advice on a wide range of health-related matters. |

Student Registry - staff provide information, advice and guidance on academic records, registration and exam related matters to both students and faculty staff.

General Welfare - staff assist with a range of support issues (personal, general, welfare, study-related) This includes guidance on changing direction by suspending, transfering or withdrawing from a course of study.
