How to Apply and Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements
You are expected to have a GPA of 3.0, a credit or grade B average or equivalent.
If you are not a native English language speaker, you will also need to have an English language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each element) or TOEFL 93 with at least 20 in each element.
Erasmus students: Your language ability will be assessed by your home university and you are therefore not required to provide further evidence of English language ability.
Application procedures for Study Abroad and Exchange students from outside the European Union
You can apply directly to the University using this form. There is no application fee if you apply direct.
Applications must include:
- A completed Application Form
- A current transcript
- Two academic references
- A Study Plan
- A copy of the information page of your passport (if available at the time of application)
You will also need a statement from your Study Abroad Advisor or Dean that you are in good standing and that your home institution supports your application to study abroad.

At the end of your study period, a transcript will be sent to your home university.
Erasmus students from the European Union
Erasmus students apply through the Study Abroad/International/Erasmus Office at their home university using this form.
Applications must include:
- A completed Application Form
- A current transcript
- The Learning Agreement
Please note that all course choices stated on your Learning Agreement will not be approved before arrival, but will be finalised at Course Registration. This takes place during your first week at Lancaster.
Please contact the Erasmus or International Office at your home institution for further information about applying to Lancaster.
At the end of your study period, a transcript will be sent to your home address.
