Postgraduate Taught Programmes – International Qualifications

This page is for students who have studied outside of the United Kingdom and who want to study a postgraduate taught programme at Lancaster University.

Lancaster has been welcoming students from around the world for many years. We have a lot of experience of the different education systems across the world.

Lancaster presents academic entry requirements for postgraduate taught master's programmes using the UK marking system. For entry to a postgraduate taught masters we normally require a bachelor degree with a minimum of an 'upper second class honours' (2:1). Some courses will require a minimum of a 'lower second class honours' (2:2). Please verify the entry requirements of your course.

  • the ranking of your academic institution (higher scores may be required from some institutions)

  • consistency of your academic performance in your academic qualification
  • academic and or work personal references
  • work experience
