Course Overview

This joint programme with the Lancaster Environment Centre is intended to appeal to students who wish to study the environmental aspects of law and human rights or the legal regulation of the environment through human rights at master's level.

The programme has a flexible pathway of study, which will define the classification of the final award with either an LLM or MA. Students take three modules from Law and three modules from the Lancaster Environment Centre as well as a dissertation.

Core Modules:

  • Perspectives on Environment and Development
  • Either Environmental Law or International Environmental Law
  • One of the following human rights options: International Human Rights; Rights of Peoples; The Right to Adequate Food as a Human Right; Dissertation

Director of Studies: Dr James Summers
Duration: 12 months full-time
Entry Requirements: A good second class honours degree, in an appropriate discipline
IELTS: 6.5 or equivalent
Assessment: Coursework and dissertation
