Course Overview

There is continuing and increasing demand for highly-educated professionals with an awareness of cutting edge networking technologies capable of influencing future developments. This industry facing MSc offers a unique balance: it is suitable for graduates from disciplines other than computer science, yet equips its graduates with the advanced skills needed to succeed as networking specialists.

A strong core programme provides a thorough grounding in computer systems, networking and systems architectures, and the fundamentals of programming. After this, a range of options and a dissertation allow you to fine tune the degree to match your interests.

The course uses modules and laboratories to deliver innovative content and teaching, including lectures from international experts in the field, and the opportunity for collaborative study with other high profile European Universities.

  • Introduction to Computer Systems
  • Network and Distributed Systems Programming
  • Network and Systems Architecture
  • Advanced Networking and the Internet
  • A Research or Industrially Focused Dissertation

  • Network and System Security
  • Advanced Topics in Networking

Director of Studies: Dr Andrew Scott
Duration: 12 months full-time
Entry Requirements: Second class honours degree, or its equivalent. Relevant industry experience may be considered
IELTS: 6.5 or equivalent
Assessment: Coursework and dissertation
