- How do I write a research proposal?
- Once you have an idea for a topic you'd like to study, there are some basic principles that may prove helpful. Firstly, your research proposal needs to demonstrate a good understanding of your intended research area. It should also establish an interesting research question and outline how you'll conduct the research. It is expected that most proposals produce new knowledge and it is imperative that you show previous research experience so that the potential supervisor can identify what research you have conducted within a previous degree course.
- To ensure that your research proposal meets the need of the academic unit, for subject-specific advice we strongly recommend that you contact the academic unit in which you intend to study, prior to submitting an application for a research programme.
