Travel and Arrival
- How do I get to Lancaster?
Lancaster is well connected to major UK cities by road and rail. If you are flying to the UK, we strongly recommend you should arrive at Manchester Airport which is within easy reach of the University by direct train or taxi. The University also runs special Airport Transfer coaches from the airport to the campus at the beginning of each academic year. Information about this Airport Transfer service will be provided to you in the Pre-arrival Information Guide produced by the University’s Student Services.
Lancaster is also on the main West Coast railway line with direct connections to London Euston station in approximately 2.5 hours. Lancaster's railway station is linked to the University by a direct bus service - the X1 - which runs every 20 minutes during the day. Alternatively, the station is a 15 minute taxi ride away.
