Course Overview
This pioneering four year degree is run in partnership with leading accountancy firm Ernst & Young. It incorporates paid placements of up to 18 months, a first year bursary, and a fast-track to chartered accountant status with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
You'll begin your studies taking three compulsory modules: Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Principles of Economics, and Statistics and Computing for Management. In your second year you can choose from subjects including Principles of Financial Accounting; Introduction to Management Accounting; and Accounting Information Systems and Auditing. You'll also take a three-month paid placement between January and March.
In your third year you'll complete a full one-year placement before returning to Lancaster for your final year, and study subjects including Financial Accounting and Issues in Auditing.
Please note: Any offer for this degree will only be made after successful attendance at a selection workshop organised by Ernst & Young in collaboration with the University.

Career opportunities
All our Accounting and Finance degrees prepare you for a wide variety of careers in business, with many of our recent graduates working with professional firms and financial institutions, as well as large commercial and local government organisations. Roles include auditors, trainee accountants, finance managers and banking advisors.
Your degree will also equip you with highly desirable transferable skills which have helped recent graduates find work in the fields of financial customer service, IT support and marketing and communications. Several graduates have also continued their academic studies and embarked on Masters degrees.

Entry Requirements
A/AS-level: AAA - AAB usually at first sitting.
Key skills: Not included in offer
Preference: Two or more A-levels
GCSE: Maths (minimum grade B), and English Language (minimum grade B)
Scottish Highers: AAABB - ABBBB

International Bacc: 36 - 35 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects
IELTS: 6.5 or an English Language qualification, depending on past study, equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in all elements).

Financial Support
Lancaster University's priority is to support every student to make the most of their life and education. In addition to government maintenance loans, grants and national scholarships, Lancaster University offers a range of financial support for full time UK Undergraduate students from lower-income backgrounds. Many students each year will be entitled to bursaries or scholarships to help them with the cost of fees and/or living expenses.
The Lancaster Scholarship package is designed to reward the hard work and natural ability of full-time UK students applying to study with us regardless of their household income. Students achieving A*, A, A in their A-level examinations (or equivalent academic qualifications) will receive a £1,000 per year Lancaster Scholarship during their undergraduate studies if they place us as their firm choice institution. Continuation of the Lancaster Scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic progression.
Our combined £5,000 bursary package will help students from England whose household incomes are less than £25,000 per year with fees and living costs.
Students from England eligible for our £5,000 bursary package will also be awarded a £3,000 Lancaster Scholarship if they achieve A*, A, A in their A-level examinations (or equivalent academic qualifications). This totals £8,000 of support for students during their studies.
