Career opportunities

Fluency in French is a highly marketable skill and combines well with the communicative and interpersonal skills you gain through Theatre Studies.

Many of our graduates find jobs within theatre - as performers, directors, writers, technicians and administrators - and in associated fields, such as journalism, the media, publishing and advertising.
Others work within areas concerned with the social applications of theatre and drama, such as teaching, social work, community arts, drama and dance therapy.

Some graduates use the managerial and interpersonal skills they develop in jobs like personnel and the Civil Service.

If you choose to continue your education, Lancaster offers a number of training courses in practical workplace skills, such as interpreting, and is also a centre of excellence for postgraduate research.
