Careers

Politics and Religious Studies at Lancaster develops valuable skills in research, analysis and communication alongside an understanding of the various value systems that motivate human behaviour. You'll also gain a range of transferable skills - such as written communication, team working and time management - that are increasingly sought after by graduate employers from all fields and sectors.

Our graduates find this mix of skills is a particularly good foundation for careers in local and national government, teaching, journalism, charities and the caring professions.

Each year, a number of our graduates also embark upon research degrees at Lancaster and elsewhere, with a view to teaching and lecturing in higher education.

Lancaster University is dedicated to ensuring you not only gain a highly reputable degree, but that you also graduate with relevant life and work based skills. We are unique in that every student is eligible to participate in The Lancaster Award which offers you the opportunity to complete key activities such as work experience, employability/career development, campus community and social development.
