Dangoor Scholarship Scheme

Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship Scheme

Lancaster University is pleased to announce its participation in the Eliahou Dangoor Scholarships scheme, which has been launched thanks to a generous donation from Dr Naim Dangoor CBE.

The Eliahou Dangoor Scholarships have been created to provide talented British students with the opportunity to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects at leading research universities like Lancaster.

Lancaster University will offer around 30 Dangoor Scholarships for the 2012/13 academic year worth £1,000 each and each award will be tenable for one year.

Naim Dangoor came to London as a student from Iraq 75 years ago to study engineering. Although he returned to Iraq after his studies, he promised himself that if one day he had the means to help others enjoy the same benefit, he would do so. Dr Dangoor and his family settled in this country in the 1960s, so he would like to give something back to the country which has provided him and his family with welcome, refuge and support.
