Post-Application Departmental Open Days
After students have submitted their UCAS form to Lancaster, departments warmly invite applicants to visit them. Don't worry - it's not an interview (although for some courses we do interview - see your letter of invitation) but simply an opportunity for you to see where you'd study, meet the tutors and students that you would be studying with and take a tour of our friendly campus to help you get a feel for life at Lancaster.
We understand that this is likely to be an anxious time for parents as well as potential students, so we invite parents to attend these days as well. Parents are often able to attend separate talks about life at Lancaster, enabling them to find out about accommodation, grants, insurance and student life on campus.
Please contact individual departments directly for post-application open day dates. The main switchboard can be contacted via +44 (0)1524 65201 or use our faculties and departments directory.
Informal Visits
If you'd rather visit Lancaster on a more informal basis, you're more than welcome to do so at any time without booking in advance. The Lancaster campus is like a small town and you're welcome to use the shops, Sports Centre, bars and restaurants; you can even pay a visit to the Library! However, if you do want to visit a department or chat with one of our admissions tutors then you will need to arrange an appointment in advance. Please note that departments are generally closed at weekends and accommodation is only available to view on organised Campus Tours, Visits or Post-Application Open Days.
To help you plan your visit to Lancaster University visit our Getting Here page, alternatively you will find a map of the campus inside the prospectus.
