Lancaster University has made up to £400,000 worth of Academic Scholarships available to successful UK applicants.
All UK students who put Lancaster University down as their firm choice and who achieve the grades required to receive a Lancaster University Academic Scholarship will automatically receive an Academic Scholarship of £1000 per year towards maintenance support. Academic Scholarships are available in every subject, apart from Medicine (A105), for which alternative details apply.
Criteria
- The student is a UK full time undergraduate* paying full tuition fees.
- UK applicants achieve a specified level of performance in their A-levels (or alternate academic qualifications).
- UK applicants must put Lancaster University down as their firm choice (CF) on their UCAS form

Notes
Applicants will be informed of the level of performance required for the award of the Scholarship by the University at the same time as they receive an offer of a place via UCAS.
Successful students in receipt of an academic scholarship will receive direct payment from the University every year for the duration of their studies at Lancaster.
Payment to the student will be made in February of the academic year subject to the student still being registered on a scheme administered by the admitting department.
The continued payment of this scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
LU Scholarship - Example
An applicant applies for a place on a degree scheme at Lancaster and receives a conditional offer (via UCAS) of a place provided that they achieve ABB at A-level. The applicant is told that if they achieve grades of AAA, and make Lancaster their firm choice, they will receive a LU Scholarship of £1,000 per year.
If the applicant achieves grades of AAB or ABB they will be guaranteed a place on the degree scheme but will not receive a Scholarship. However, if the applicant achieves grades of AAA then they will be guaranteed a place on the degree scheme and will also receive an annual scholarship, subject to remaining on the scheme of study and making satisfactory academic progress.
