The Underpass typifies the revolutionary approach taken by the University. However, the author of “The Quest for Innovation”, Marion McClintock, recalls that it was built in a year and her enduring memory of the construction was the mud!
In the middle of the 1966, the Underpass suffered from a bout of torrential rain. It flooded, causing numerous headaches for anxious commuters.
