In keeping with the academic nature of the occasion and ceremonial tradition, all students wishing to attend their graduation ceremony must wear the correct academic dress.
Hire your robes online at http://www.wippellgownhire.co.uk/. Your robes will be brought to campus on the day of your Graduation Ceremony by our academic robemakers, J. Wippell & Co. Ltd. You will collect them from the LICA building and the Wippells team will help you put your robes on. You should aim for this to take place 1½ – 2 hours before your ceremony.
Normal wear under robes is a suit and tie for men and a plain dress or skirt/trouser suit for women.
As well as a black mortar board with a black tassel, our graduates wear a black gown with a different coloured hood depending on their award. Photographs of the different hoods can be seen below.
