The Centre's latest publication - The Three-Legged Society. The lives of the Westmorland naturalists George Stabler, James M. Barnes and Joseph A. Martindale - was launched on 10th April at Kendal Museum, with over 50 people attending.

5 March

A very successful 40th Archaeology Forum was held on 2nd March, with 150 people attending. We were pleased to have the University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark E. Smith, speak to the Forum on this auspicious occasion. Unfortunately Professor David Shotter was unable to join us on the day due to health issues - only the second time he has missed the Forum in its 40 years. Dr Sam Riches provided a substitute paper at short notice, and the updated synopses of the day reflect this change. Seven of the eight speakers are shown here:
