2005
PREFACE
This
annual list covers books, articles, computer programmes, media material and art
exhibitions dated and published or mounted in 2005, together with any items not
included in previous years. Entries are
arranged primarily by department, then by year of publication and
alphabetically by author. Students’
names are distinguished by an asterisk (*) and those of non-members of the
university by a dagger (†). The practice
concerning the abbreviation of titles of periodicals is in line with British
Standard 4148, Part 1, 1970 and Part 2, 1975.
A
list of the research grants awarded to the university during the calendar year
2005 is also included. The information
is arranged alphabetically by the awarding body, in the same format as the
reports that are made to the Senate.
The
former individual bibliographical checking of each published item has been
replaced primarily by a reliance on the information submitted to us. I should like warmly to acknowledge the
efforts made by departments and sections to complete the materials for this
listing and to thank UniPrint for their efficient production of the finished
article. Especial thanks are due to
Angela Pearson for her invaluable help in preparing and checking the text.
