About ‘How To’…
This is the website for the ‘How To’ week. ‘How To’ has been organised by Lancaster University to help our students develop skills and behaviours that will give them the edge in the future. ‘How To’ is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012, a worldwide movement encouraging people from all walks of life to be more enterprising in all that they do.
Each event for the ‘How To’ week has been specially designed to support our students to develop at least one of the following entrepreneurial behaviours and skills:
- Ideas and creativity
- Commercial awareness
- Sense of ownership for making things happen
- Decision making and judgement
- Confidence building to stand out from the crowd
- Personality types and team building
- Networking and building effective relationships
- Pitching and presenting
- Goal setting and project planning
- Negotiating and selling
‘How To’ is organised by the Enterprise Champion project with support from stakeholders including LUSU Involve, LUSU Activities, CEEC and all four University faculties.
If any of the events and competitions during ‘How To’ have inspired you then we are here to help. Come and speak to one of the team who can support you to develop your entrepreneurial potential.

Message To University Staff
Through the Enterprise Champion project an Action Group has been formed to coordinate proactive support for the entrepreneurial development of our students. This group has organised the ‘How To’ week.
We would also like to speak to any staff who are interested in embedding enterprise skills and behaviours into their teaching.
If you would like to get involved please contact Jon Powell, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Northwest Enterprise Champion project is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
