It also offers opportunities to carry out research (full-time or part-time) for the degrees of M.Phil. and Ph.D. assessment of taught courses usually includes a dissertation or project diploma courses are complete in themselves, but they can also be suitable for those who wish to qualify for entry to a Master's degree course in some subject areas it is also possible to undertake a Master's degree by research - the MRes - (normally over 12 months full-time) all departments are experienced at supervising PhD research all of the research degrees are awarded by examination of a thesis many of the Master's degrees and the PhD can be taken on a part-time basis a list of courses on offer can be found in the on-line Postgraduate Prospectus the University has wide-ranging experience of the special needs of international students, and welcomes applications from suitably qualified students from any country.
