Principal Jo Hardman j.hardman@lancaster.ac.uk The Principal is the senior member of the College who is responsible to the Council and the Senate of the University for the College finances and for maintaining the effective working and good order of the College. Vice-Principal Dr Paul Dolby p.dolby@lancaster.ac.uk Paul is the principal's second in command within the College. Paul has been a part of Graduate College in many capacities since he came to Lancaster as a student in 1994. Dean Dr. Shannon Lowe s.lowe@lancaster.ac.uk The Dean is a senior member of the College who ensures that there is no breach of university or college rules. She is responsible for all disciplinary matters within the College. Resident Assistant Deans Safoora Omer Rashid, Chun Lin, Evan Wilson and Matt Witbrodt; graddeans@lists.lancs.ac.uk Assistant Deans are postgraduate students who live within Graduate College and assist the Dean with welfare and disciplinary matters. College Welfare Officer Bev Abram b.abram@lancaster.ac.uk Ext. 93940 Bev holds weekly welfare drop-in sessions within the college and is your first point of contact with the welfare and support side of the University. Be they small problems or major crises, academic or personal, Bev will listen to you and help you find a solution. College Administrator Jane Hulland j.hulland@lancaster.ac.uk Ext. 92600 Jane is responsible for running the College Office, which is located next to the Porters' lodge. She will produce letters for banks, confirmation of student status etc. Jane also maintains the e-mail list for all resident postgraduate Students, updates the college website and sells tickets for GSA and college events. Her office hours are 9am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-3pm. College Residence Officers Lucyann Featherstone & Joy Payne gcro@lancaster.ac.uk Ext. 93342 The residence office is on your left as you enter the reception lodge, next to the College meeting room. The residence officers are responsible for all accommodation related matters within the college. Their office hours are 9:30am-12:30pm and 2pm-4:30pm College Porters Kevin Forsythe, Geoff Todd, Nino Sibilla and Kevin Baird. gradcoll.porters@lancaster.ac.uk Ext. 93194 College Porters are available 24hrs a day for the majority of the year and are responsible for mail, room keys, and general security in and around the college. They are the people you should speak to first if you need help or information or if you have any sort of problems day or night. College Associates College Associates are academic members of staff who work within the faculties and have close ties to the college. If you have a problem and feel more comfortable taking it to someone in your faculty in the first instance, contact your college associate. This years' associates are: Management School: T.B.C Arts and Social Sciences: T.B.C Science and Technology: T.B.C Gradbar Licensee Gareth Ellis www.gradbar.co.uk Ext. 92824 Gareth has been responsible for running Gradbar for the past 6 years. He has succeeded in having the bar listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide since 2003 and his ever-changing selection of quality traditional real ales are well worth trying. Watch out for his annual real ale and cider festival in week 9 of the summer term. GSA Office Assistant gsa_assistant@hotmail.com Ext. 92561 The GSA office assistant is in charge of running the office for the GSA Exec. Office hours are 9:30am - 2pm Mondays and Thursdays. You should see the office assistant if you wish to get involved in college sports teams, the GSA Exec or to buy tickets for GSA events and trips. GSA Ext. 92561 The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is the elected representative body of the members of The Graduate College of Lancaster University. All postgraduate students of the University are members of the GSA, whether they live in Graduate College or not. They aim to look after the needs of all postgraduates, be they academic, social, sporting or in relation to accommodation.
