Welcome to the Innovation & Enterprise Unit

The Innovation and Enterprise Unit was created in 2003 from the School of Independent Studies, which had a long established reputation for distinctive and highly regarded innovations in teaching. These include the ‘Consultant MA’ and the BA in Independent Studies, which has recently been revised and renamed BA in Consultancy and Independent Research. On both of these courses students have the opportunity to develop their research and consultancy skills by working with a client resolving real issues and problems.

Through these two courses the department aims to develop skills, which are relevant to the needs of employers and improve the employability of those students who undertake these programmes.

Increasingly the Unit has developed its external links with a range of organisations in order to develop its business outreach work and it is currently involved in a number of externally funded projects.
