2+2 Collaborative Programmes - China

About the programme

Chinese students

Lancaster University currently offers three 2+2 Programmes at different institutions in China. Students on these programmes spend the first two years of their undergraduate studies in their home country at the designated universities and then take the final two years here at Lancaster. The degree that is awarded is from Lancaster University. These programmes are offered in collaboration with the following selected partner institutions:

Entry requirements

For Guangdong University of Foreign Studies:

Chinese students

Students eligible for entry to this programme must have at least an overall score of 60% on the Chinese National University Entrance Examination. On achieving the required score, those students wishing to apply for the programme must then pass an interview in English and a writing test, which will determine their level of English at point of entry and their suitability for the programme.

Progression to Lancaster University will depend on successful completion of the first two years in China, an IELTS language requirement of Band 6.0 (6.5 for Business Studies and Accounting & Finance degrees) or equivalent and passing an interview by a member of staff from Lancaster. Students apply directly to Lancaster University in their second year of study at the Chinese university. Those students who meet the Lancaster University admissions criteria will be given the opportunity to go directly into the second year of the specified three-year degree programme at Lancaster.

For The Chinese University of Hong Kong:

Chinese students

The initial entry requirements of those students wishing to take part in the 2+2 Programme will be the same as the admission requirements set by the School of Continuing Study for entry to its Associate Degree Programme, i.e. satisfactory completion of a Pre-Associate Degree Programme or a pass in 1 'A' Level subject or 2 'AS' Level subjects in the HKALE, and 5 passes in the HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B) or equivalent.

Progression to Lancaster University will depend on successful completion of the first two years in Hong Kong with a minimum 2.5 grade point average, an IELTS language requirement of Band 6.0 or equivalent and passing an interview by a member of staff from Lancaster. Students apply directly to Lancaster University in their second year of study at the School for Continuing Studies. Those students who meet the Lancaster University admissions criteria will be given the opportunity to go directly into the second year of the specified three-year degree programme at Lancaster.
