Dual Master's Degree Programme in Psychology with Ritsumeikan University in Japan
Lancaster University and Ristumeikan University have formed an academic partnership in order to deliver joint programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Currently we can offer a Dual Master's Degree Programme leading to an MA in Psychology awarded by Ritsumeikan University and an MSc in one of the following subjects awarded by Lancaster University:
Or an MA in International Relations and an MA in one of the following subjects awarded by Lancaster University:
- MA International Relations
- MA Security and War
- MA Peace Studies
- MA Conflict Resolution
- MA Conflict, Developement and Security
- MA Globalisation and the Information Age
Students will spend the first six months at Ritsumeikan University during the Spring Semester, then join the programme at Lancaster for a full year, returning to Ristumeikan in the Fall Semester to complete a further six months. The programme is a full two years and students will be required to write two dissertations, one in English and the other in Japanese. These two pieces of work will be distinct from one another, but can be on a related topic.
All students wishing to enter this programme should have a good first degree in Psychology or related field with at least a cumulative GPA of 3.5 with appropriate coverage of areas relevant to their proposed Master's programme at Lancaster. In addition students must have an IELTS of 6.5 or TOEFL - PBT of 580. Students will also be required to attend a pre-sessional Study Skills course in September prior to enrolment on the Lancaster Master's course.
