PROGRAMME OPTIONS AND COSTS
You can study at Lancaster for the full
academic year, the Fall/Michaelmas term (October - December) or for the
Spring semester (Lent/Summer terms - January - June).
Tuition fees for study abroad
students at Lancaster
are the same whether you take courses in arts, sciences or both. They are
charged according to the number of terms you spend at Lancaster, not on a 'per credit' basis.
Students who have been selected by their home institutions to
participate in a reciprocal exchange programme, and those whose home
institutions have payment arrangements with Lancaster, will be required to
pay tuition at their home university and not to Lancaster. Please check with your Study Abroad Advisor
to see if this applies to you.
1 Full Year Option
You study at Lancaster
for the full academic year from
October to June (three terms of ten weeks each). A full workload during this period is
generally regarded as being 30-32
US
semester credits or 60-64 ECTS
credits.
You must stay at Lancaster
until you have completed all your coursework and examinations. Examinations are mainly held in May and
June and the exam timetable is published in March each year. End of year travel arrangements should not
be finalised until exam dates have been checked. There will be no reduction in tuition or
room fees even if your exam schedule permits you to leave before the official
end of term.
