The BT CMC in HE Project

Lancaster University's C SALT* team has funding from British Telecom to work with other departments and institutions across the Higher Education sector in exploring the potential of using Computer-Mediated Communications (CMC) to support more flexible patterns of teaching and learning.

The CMC in HE Advice Centre is an online network organised to:

  1. disseminate experience in using of CMC across Higher Education
  2. develop and document experience in effective use of CMC in HE
  3. act as an information resource for best practice in using CMC

The project runs workshops at HE institutions around the UK and has occasionally distributes Newsletters to interested parties:

  1. Issue 1 - Broadening Access to Higher Education
  2. Issue 2 - Models for CMC Participation, Workshop Reports, UCSG Conference
  3. Issue 3 - Choosing a Conference System
