As a patron of the Arts and as a critic Ruskin influenced art and society of his day. On display from this collection were works of his close friends, pupils and protégés. As patron, teacher and friend, Ruskin influenced and encouraged a great many artists. The work of these artists, united by their connection with Ruskin were displayed in this exhibition.

This vivid and colourful display included works by Turner, copied for Ruskin by Isabella Jay, and work by Edward Burne-Jones, Albert Goodwin, Arthur Severn, Charles Fairfax Murray, Kate Greenway and Francesca Alexander.
