Rebecca Patterson (néeFinnerty) (BA, Aberystwyth), previously an assistant librarian with the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin, took up the post of deputy curator of the Ruskin Library in April 1997 . She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and has become a regular participant in the Ruskin Seminar.

The deputy curator has special responsibility for the books and manuscripts in the Ruskin Collection, and for documentation.
