St Patrick's Church

St Patrick's Church, Heysham

St Patrick's church was probably founded in the 8th century but it's origins are obscure: it sits on a promontory overlooking Morecambe Bay and the Lake District alongside the parish church of St Peter's which is of similar antiquity. The stone coffins carved into the rocky headland are also a bit of a mystery but seem to date to pre-Norman times.
