Professor Robert McKinlay, BSocSci, DPhil
Deputy Vice-Chancellor

Professor McKinlay has an overall responsibility, with the Vice-Chancellor and the Pro-Vice-Chancellors, to lead the development and resourcing of academic policy. His more specific responsibilities include those for the quality of teaching and learning, the development of new academic disciplines and activities, and the development of Lancaster's international profile including teaching and research links.
Robert McKinlay is a Professor of International Studies. He has worked extensively overseas in the USA (at the Universities of Pennsylvania and Northwestern), in Scandinavia (at the Universities of Odense and Aarhus and at the Norwegian Foreign Policy Research Institute), and in the Republic of South Africa (at the University of the Western Cape). His publications include: The Recalcitrant Rich, Aid and Arms to the Third World, Global Problems and World Order, Third World Military Expenditure and Comparing Government Activity.
